Site CARE Team Training Day 2 LIMITED
Friday October 25, 2024 8:00am - 3:00pm PDT
It is a multidisciplinary team of selected staff that works collaboratively to support students’ mental and emotional well being by tracking behaviors over time and identifying “red flags” (patterns, trends, disturbances) in individual and/or group behavior. Behavioral Intervention Teams (BIT) in the K-12 setting can provide additional support beyond intervening when the need arises for a threat assessment and/or mental health or behavioral crisis.   BIT members meet on a regular basis to review behavioral data, trends, etc, to provide guidance on how to proceed with the goal of preventing the threat and/or crisis before it occurs. BIT team members with specialized knowledge and training can work in conjunction with other established site teams (Tier I, Tier II, PBIS teams) to provide guidance to help develop success plans for students that includes supportive measures.
